Getting To Faro Airport

Faro Airport in Portugal is just a 4 km distance from the city centre and the airport has excellent motorway connections to all parts of the Algarve and the rest of Portugal as well as destinations across the Spanish border, such as Huelva and Seville.

Driving directions

Driving by hire car or taxi from the historic Old Town in Faro will only take 15 minutes. From Lisbon it is a three hour drive to the airport (277 km), and from just across the border in Spain, from the popular cities of Huelva and Seville it will take between 2 to 2.5 hour to drive back to Faro.

Getting to the airport is easy with the various motorway and dual carriageway connections surrounding the location: the A22 leads directly to the terminal, the EN 125, IC1, N2, N120, N122 International and N431 (from Huelva, Spain) / A22 (Via do Infante, Portugal). These motorways and dual carriageway connections link most of the important resorts that are close to the airport, namely Vale Do Lobo, Vilamoura, Portimao, Lagos and Quinta Do Lago.

The airport has at least eight different car hire companies with service desks in the terminal’s arrival zones. The parking facilities are located in front of the terminal and passengers with a rental car to return at the end of their contract, should ascertain at the time of collecting their keys and documents, where their rental car should be returned to the compound.
